Biography

Dr. Funda Okay is an Instructor in the Department of Modern Languages at Middle East Technical University (METU), where she has been teaching since 2020. She holds a Ph.D. in English Language Teaching from METU. She also earned her M.A. in English Literature and B.A. in English Language Teaching from the same institution....

Before joining METU, she worked at Çankaya University for nearly 14 years, teaching English in preparatory programs, linguistics, and English for specific purposes. She has also been actively involved in exam preparation courses, distance education, and material development.

Her research interests include pragmatics, language teaching, classroom discourse and program evaluation. She has co-authored coursebooks and exam preparation booklets for large scale language tests.
